Empurau is the most expensive and precious edible freshwater fish in Malaysia. The Empurau is rare species reputation and slow growth rate make it even more sought after, which make this delicacy very pricey.

The price for Empurau sought from few hundred/kg to few thousand/kg, which make it is a bit costly for many people.
